RAFFLES INITIATIVE FOR GLOBAL POLICY AND LEADERSHIP (‘RIGPAL’)
The contributions of our team members in the area of global policy and leadership have been significant and numerous over many decades. In addition to public service and charitable endeavours of mankind, members of the team have played the role of thought leaders in many areas where there has been both private endeavour and positive societal impact.
These activities include areas such as sustainable and impact investing, where Jerome de Bontin and his colleagues at Capricorn pioneered many of the cutting edge contributions to thought and action in the area of principled and sustainable investing. Professor Liechtenstein authored one of the earliest articles on the topic nearly twenty years ago, and also dedicates a substantial part of his time to his family’s educationally-oriented Liechtenstein Academy and leads non-profit ventures involving legacy families in areas associated with the IESE Business School.
Robert Batt is in the process of exploring, with the Artificial Intelligence team at Cambridge University, how knowledge in the domains of family and individual therapy and modern technology can be brought together to find creative channels to identify and provide advice to those young people, caught up in a global tsunami of mental health crises, who may not otherwise be able to find the therapy they need.
Our Founder, Mark Haynes Daniell, has long been active in matters of policy and leadership. His first publication, an Intercollegiate Case Clearing House business case on wage and price control, was written when he was still a senior in high school. In addition to authoring three books dedicated specifically to global policy and leadership – World of Risk (two editions, six foreign language editions) and both The Renaissance Leadership Imperative Responsibility (coming soon) – he has been elected to public office, participated in the Singapore government’s national Economic Review Committee, been active in numerous public fora and spoken at events at such global venues as the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (presenting the work done on GExSI, the Global Exchange for Social Initiatives), the Royal Institute for International Affairs, The Bloomberg Forum and has been a frequent guest on the BBC, CNBC, CNN and Channel NewsAsia.
Many other members of the team have made similar contributions in their own ways to various charities, societal policy boards and other such activities as well.
In addition to providing insights on Business approaches to CSR and ESG practices, successful investment approaches to Sustainable and Impact Investing, and proven approaches to Philanthropy and Social Engagement, The Raffles Legacy Learning e-learning portal has pledged that 100% of the profits arising from enrolment in the Philosophy and Social Engagement course all go to a set of pre-selected philanthropic organizations, chosen by the expert team members who contribute to the ‘PSE’ course.
